Barbara McDowell Foundation Launches First-Ever Fundraising Campaign

In conjunction with the milestone of celebrating its tenth-year anniversary, the Barbara McDowell Foundation has embarked on its first-ever fundraising campaign.

As one of the very few nationwide sources for social justice litigation grants, the Foundation is raising additional funds to allow it to donate more money to more grantees, creating even greater impact. The Foundation is asking interested donors to help it meet its goal of raising $150,000 in this tenth-anniversary giving campaign so that it can increase the number and amount of its annual grants.

With today’s legal, political and economic climate, there is a significant and growing need for grantmaking to support social justice litigation. Nonprofit organizations representing our country’s most vulnerable persons, defending their rights, and championing their causes very often lack the necessary funds to pursue even the most egregious cases. Each year, the Foundation receives many more grant requests than it can fulfill.
