2021 Grantees Announced By Barbara McDowell Foundation

The Barbara McDowell and Gerald S. Hartman Foundation has selected the following four organizations for 2021 grants, each receiving an award of $50,000:

The grantees were selected after a rigorous review process conducted by the staff and Board of Directors of the Foundation.

The Foundation’s 2021 grants are funding cases aimed at correcting injustices in the following of its issue areas:

  • Children’s Rights

  • Disability Rights

  • Discrimination

  • Refugee and Immigrant Rights

  • Voting Rights

The Foundation received this year 104 applications from very worthy organizations. The Board of Directors of the Foundation faced a very difficult task in making its decision to award four grants in the amount of $50,000 each for a total of $200,000 in grants. As much as the Foundation would have liked all applicants to receive a grant for 2021 that was not possible based upon the Foundation’s financial structure to ensure the continued availability of its funds for future grants.

The Foundation encourages applicant organizations not selected as grant winners to apply in future years. Interested organizations can review the Foundation’s website for deadlines associated with submitting a grant application.
